Enter Data to Find Profile
You may want to find someone on Tinder as you could be interested in building a connection with them. It may also be due to trust issues or genuine pointers that indicate that your partner is cheating. Additionally, you may want to look for someone on Tinder as a part of some investigation process.
Hence, to help you find a Tinder account, I have tried several methods and shortlisted 5 best procedures that genuinely work.
I used Tinder and third-party apps like Social Catfish to find people on Tinder. Google search was also useful in this case, furthermore, I asked a friend with a Tinder account to help me. Directly checking phone activity and Tinder-related hashtags also uncovered few valuable data. Issues, like fake ID and Tinder’s incognito mode, made my search challenging. To be on the safe side, do consider all the ethical and legal implications of looking for people online. One must also be ready for what follows after finding their partner on Tinder and prepare for how to deal with it.
Method 1: Use the Tinder App to find people
Here are the three simple methods that you can use to find people on Tinder using Tinder.
People you already matched with
To find people that you have already matched with you can simply visit the main interface of the application and tap on the Message icon. You can locate it on top of the screen, I simply pull down the message icon to find its search bar and then type the individual’s username to display their profile.
Narrow down your search
Narrowing down your search can help you find people faster on Tinder. Let’s say you are not entirely sure about their age but can take a guess, for example, late 20s to early 30s, therefore, you’ll need to select 26-34. I also like its location distance filter, which increases my chances of finding an individual; for example, you can select a maximum distance of 200 miles from your current location, assuming the person lives within this stretch.
Tinder URL
I have personally found this method quite useful since I didn’t even have to sign up. Every profile that exists on Tinder has its own URL that looks like https://tinder.com/@username. Hence, you can use it to find the person with their username instantly. Note that, if you do not know their username, you can use their other social media usernames to try it out.
Method 2: Use Third Party Apps
Using third-party apps is also a helpful method. I have personally tried several tools and found these three the most helpful for finding someone on Tinder.

Method 3: Using Google search engine
Using the Google search site we can find a huge pool of information. Therefore, if you want to find a Tinder account of a potential cheater via Google you may land on exactly what you are looking for.
mSpy is tinder Spy App offers features that help you manipulate phone calls, social media activities, and GPS location. It received, sent or even deleted all Tinder messages from any contact.
Here are the steps that I followed to find someone on Tinder using Google:
Step 1) Go to https://www.google.com/ and type site.tinder.com along with the person’s name. For example. site.tinder.com Francesca.
Step 2) This provided me with results only from Tinder rather than other social media sites.
Spynger is one of the best Tinder tracker apps that allows users to monitor activities on a target device. It supports monitoring a wide range of apps and features, including Tinder, where users can track chats, profile updates, and shared media.
Method 4: Ask a friend with a Tinder account for help
This can be one of the most effective solutions among all methods. If you have a friend who is on Tinder, you can ask them to find out if the person you want to find is on the app or keep an eye out to let you know if they join it.
Another trick you can try is asking a friend to borrow their Tinder account to check if that person is on the platform. If you have a good understanding, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Method 5: Other quick methods
Direct search on other social platforms
I couldn’t find some of the profiles using reverse search tools, so I thought to myself, why not directly search for them on other social platforms? You can look for them on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Some of the accounts I came across had a public profile, so I could gather some data from these accounts.
Hashtag search on other social media sites
Another trick I tried was using Tinder-related hashtags on other social media sites. Although I had to go through hundreds of results to find two useful pictures of the targets I was looking for during this article’s research process.
Phone activity
This may seem invasive, but you have to resort to dire measures during desperate situations. Just to try it out, I checked my friends’ phone activity. I found it on the recent apps on an Android device since Tinder uses GPS. As for my iPhone user friend, I could locate it in the multitasking view.
Issues you may face while Finding Someone on Tinder
Here are some of the main issues that I faced while trying to find someone on Tinder:
- The person was not on Tinder: The individual you are looking for may not be on Tinder. However, just because they are not on this dating app doesn’t mean they are not using any. I found some of the individuals on Bumble, Bloom, OkCupid, and even Grinder.
- Fake identity: I came across a few individuals on the app that I have loosely known in real life with fake names, however, they used their real selfies. One of the unpleasant things I encountered was seeing someone use one of my cousin’s pictures for a fake ID; hence, many others could be using this same trick.
- Incognito mode: Tinder offers an incognito mode for extra privacy which is available in higher plans. It makes the account visible only to people they swipe right on; hence, this restriction might have stopped me from finding certain people.
- Don’t use your official name: I made a mistake when I created an account to look for someone by using my real name. This alerted them, and they either blocked me or moved on to another app.
Ethical and Legal Considerations of stalking someone on Tinder
When you are looking for someone on Tinder, it may come across as unethical, although this depends on your intent. If you are simply looking to connect with someone or find out if your partner is cheating with no other harmful motive, it does not have to go into the book of unethical conduct.
However, if you are planning on stalking them, even if they have expressed displeasure or you are scheming something, it can be unethical plus illegal.
You may even use third-party sites to locate them on Tinder but try to understand its implications before you do so. I went ahead with the third-party sites, knowing that it would be an invasion of privacy and that I must maintain my integrity and never misuse the information. Moreover, I was aware that they may occasionally show inaccurate or outdated data. I also made sure to use only reputable sites to avoid falling prey to security risks and data breaches.
Incidents of stalkers being charged
You must avoid stalking people at all costs. It should never cross ethical or legal boundaries and should be discontinued once you find them on Tinder. You are obviously aware of several incidents that have ended tragically for both the target and the stalker.
Keeping aside the terrible news of stalking victims, I’d like to mention the charges made against stalkers for your awareness. Brett Wilson Media reported, “Tinder Stalker sentenced to contempt of court”. In this case, Oliver Mills-Nanyn was sentenced to six months of prison and payment of £30,000 to the victim for harassing them online.
The other headline by The Advertiser reads, “Tinder stalker Jailed for terrorizing 25 women over a period of nine years.” This northern suburb stalker used multiple dating sites to stalk his victims. I also came across a unique headline by Otago Daily Times that said, “Tinder stalker jailed for the fifth time”. Karen IIya Laing was jailed for the fifth time, as she never learned from the previous consequences of stalking individuals online.
Tinder’s Privacy and Data Security
If you use Tinder frequently, you can stay safe by reporting any kind of abuse, as its team instantly investigates all reported crimes. Tinder does not sell your data to third-party apps and lets you download your information to see what’s stored in the app. It also provides helplines on its website to report rape and abuse, domestic violence, human trafficking and more.
Emotional Impact of Discovering a Tinder Profile on Personal Relationships
Discovering your partner’s profile on Tinder can take a huge toll on you. When I informed my friend about my findings on her boyfriend, using Cheaterbuster, as mentioned above, she was furious and hurt. Hence, seeing this firsthand, I know it is difficult to digest such news. It also led my friend to doubt him constantly, even after they reconciled, leading to frequent arguments.
You may not be thinking straight at that moment when you find out, hence, take some time before you break it to your partner. I would recommend you not lose your cool when you start the conversation. Sally Conolly, LCSW, LMFT, is a therapist with 30 years of experience in dealing with couples counseling. She advises people that, no matter how painful it may seem, you must talk about such matters with your partner. Sally encourages people to discuss the affair till why, what, who, when, and where questions are answered, which will reduce the anger and doubts.
You can also calmly explain to your partner why you had to investigate, as they may use it against you and call you out for spying on them. Before you blame them, be ready to hear their side of the story as well and give them space to explain themselves. Note that it may also be a fake ID. In such cases, you can ask them for proof; if they are honest, they will willingly bring evidence to prove it to you.
Finally, if it is confirmed that they have been unfaithful, you can take the step that is best for your relationship and come to a mutual agreement. If both of you are willing, you can also get professional help, such as couple’s therapy. Having said all that, do not hesitate to break it off if the relationship is beyond repair and both of you agree that it’s for the best.
