I tested TeraBox’s free plan, which offered me a massive 1 TB(1024 GB) of storage. It is pretty high compared to the usual 15 GB, 10 GB, or 5 GB. Thus, making it an excellent choice for users who seek free cloud storage. I could upload various types of files on the free plan, but it supports only 480p video resolution. Its upload speed is not bad for small files like 89KB since it took me only 2-5 seconds.

However, the speed varies with the file size, obviously, but it is good enough for personal use. Moreover, you get only 1 file for parallel downloading, and there are a few ads that appear once in a while. Although, I must admit that its storage capacity is impressive overall.

2) Large File Uploads

You can upload large 4GB files in its basic tier, and it goes up to 128 GB in the Premium plan. I tested it by uploading multiple large files– the 4GB file in the free plan took me around 7 to 12 minutes, which isn’t too bad. However, it also depends on your internet, hence, a stable and strong connection is required for smooth uploading.

It supports various kinds of files such as pictures, Word doc/docx, PDF, audio, and video in their different popular formats. Moreover, using its Web version, I could upload 300 files for free simultaneously. Hence, budget-conscious users, such as students and freelancers, will definitely benefit from using TeraBox.

3) File Sharing

TeraBox supports unlimited file sharing on its PC and App as long as you have enough storage. It helped me create links to share large files and set expiration times with options like 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, and Permanent. Additionally, its email-sharing option lets you add multiple email addresses and send the file with a message.

It also has the “Share link Batch Save” feature that enables you to create multiple shareable links of your files and folders. I was able to make these links in advance and send them later to numerous recipients. The free plan supports up to 20 files, and the premium plans allow 50,000 files. In the Other Files section, I could create my own folders and sort them as per my requirements. It also lets you create subfolders within your folders. Additionally, it allowed me to select the view style option, such as list, thumbnail, or icon.

You get easy access to your files from all your devices, and the space analyzer identifies larger and older files by size and date. Moreover, it flags any duplicates so you can get rid of them easily. In case you delete any file by mistake, you can restore it within a time window of 10 days in its free plan from the Recycle Bin. On the other hand, the premium plans allow you to restore them for up to 30 days. I found its file management quite simple, hence, it’s suitable for beginners and professionals alike.

5) Remote Uploading and Easy Downloading

TeraBox’s remote URL uploads make it an advanced cloud storage service. The phone app users can upload an unlimited number of videos as long as there’s storage space. Unfortunately, this feature isn’t available for users on the free account. However, the good news is that I could still bulk upload up to 500 files on its free plan, which is a significant number of items.

It enabled me to download and save files directly to the cloud through URL links. You can also use its batch download feature, which supports an unlimited number of files. As for parallel downloads, you get 1 file in the basic plan, whereas the premium app supports 5 files. If you are downloading a video, it offers a transcoding feature as well for Premium users. Furthermore, I noticed that the download speed is ultra-fast in the paid plans, while the free users might have to remain slightly patient.

6) Video Streaming

One of the amazing features that TeraBox provides is the ability to stream videos directly from the cloud storage without requiring you to download them. All I had to do was locate the video file, tap on it, and play it on the built-in player. It’s convenient to use since I can control the quality, speed, and subtitles (if available). This player supports formats like MP4, MKV, MOV, AVI, and more; however, some rare file types might not be supported.

Moreover, it includes a built-in preview and playback for photos and documents. Thus helping users know that they are downloading the correct file. Therefore, it can be of great use for vloggers/bloggers and influencers who are required to deal with a lot of videos and pictures. I truly enjoyed testing the multiple file processing features that TeraBox offers. That’s because it provides a multitude of features such as text extraction, batch scanning, PDF editing, encryption, etc. I could also use it for file signatures, watermarking, and removing handwriting. Moreover, you can convert the files to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Thus, its file processing is helpful not just for personal users but also for teachers, journalists, training managers, etc.

9) Secure Storage

TeraBox offers an incredible lineup of security features. Hence, individuals or teams looking for secure cloud storage can opt for its services. It uses transport encryptions like TLS and SSL, hence, whether you are downloading or uploading a file/files, it protects them in transit. Your files are also protected when they’re at rest, stored in the TeraBox secure servers. Additionally, the TeraBox data centers have incorporated redundancy systems to prevent data loss. Hence, no unauthorized personnel can ever access your data.

I could also store all my sensitive files in my Personal Vault, which requires a separate password. It even supports biometric security (Fingerprint and Face ID), providing extra safety. This cloud storage also has 2FA and allows you to share links with a protected password and expiration window. Its certifications include ISO/ICE 27001, 27018, and 27701, which meet international standards. However, I hope we will see zero-knowledge and end-to-end encryption security features in the future.

11) Offline Access

Its offline access allows you to download locally, which means you can save the file to your device gallery– this feature is available only on Android. If you want to move the files to external storage or apps, you can use its Export feature. You can also opt for offline access, which lets you view your files within TeraBox without an internet connection. I could easily mark the files and folders that I wanted to access offline. Moreover, the edits and changes that I made to my items were synced once I went back online. Therefore, users who are skeptical about using TeraBox are hopefully rethinking about giving it a chance.

Hence, it is quite affordable to upgrade, plus you get 2048 GB storage and many valuable features. Large file uploading capacity stands at 128 GB, which is a massive jump from the 4GB limit in the free plan. Moreover, I received ultra-fast download and upload, automatic backups, media streaming, image compression, high-quality video resolution, etc. In my opinion, this starting premium plan pretty much covers all the requirements for a user looking for personal use or someone who just wants secure cloud storage.

Premium Plus

This plan offers 41+ features, which include all the advanced privileges, including AI-powered tools. It costs $3.89 per month and offers the same 2 TB of storage. Its auto-renewal charges $3.89, whereas the yearly renewal costs $39.99. Most of its key features, like, large file upload size, file sharing capacity, supported video resolution, vault storage space, etc., are the same as the ordinary Premium plan. However, I could access complete File Processing features that include ID card detail extraction, adding a watermark, etc. Using the Premium+, I was able to get the taste of all its AI privileges, which gives you the sense of using a next-gen cloud service.

Pros and Cons of TeraBox

Here are some of the key points that I liked about TeraBox:

• First and foremost, its massive free storage space– 1TB is a highly generous amount compared to what we get in the cloud storage market.
• Its “Offline File Data” feature helps you clear the caches of local offline files. Hence, you can easily free up space on your device.
• The real-time sync feature is also highly effective since all the changes and edits on the files reflect immediately across all platforms and devices.
• Unlike some of its competitors, it is highly mobile-optimized; hence, you can use it like any other mobile app.
• I was also impressed by its cloud unzip feature, which helped me extract ZIP files directly to the cloud without downloading. Hence, users can easily view compressed ZIP files on TeraBox.
• Its advanced media playback features, like photo editing, multi-speed video playback, video acceleration, video data-saving mode, etc., make TeraBox stand out among its peers.

Not every tool or service is perfect; hence, here’s what I didn’t like about TeraBox:
