Freelancing

What is Freelancing?

Freelancers are people who offer their services to employers without a long term commitment to them. In short, freelancing definition is, working for your self. Freelancers charge their employers by the hour, day or a fixed price for the project in hand.

Where can I find Freelancing Jobs?

There are tons of websites where Freelancing jobs are listed. See this page to check freelancing jobs from some good websites. Check Out Freelancing Jobs and start bidding

How it Works?

1) The buyer will post a project along with all details and descriptions in the freelance website.

2) The service providers (i.e. YOU :-) ) could check the project and place a  bid (asking price to complete the project). Likewise, other service providers would also quote their bids for the same project.

3) The buyer will check the bids and award the project to a provider of his choice (usually service provide who will bid the lowest and has high reputation).

4) The service provider will complete the project and send the deliverables to the buyer.

5) The buyer will verify the work product and if everything is satisfactory will release the bid amount to you.

The Freelancing Portal which acts as an intermediary will charge you a small percentage of the bid amount.

Tips & Tricks

1) Initially, it is advisable to quote low rates as there will be not much of work history to justify your talent and credibility. Once you have fair amount of jobs done, you can raise your asking price and will see lot of repeat customers and referrals.

2) If possible try to get your friends or colleague on board. This will ensure that you have wider range of services to offer and they can also take your work up in emergency situations avoiding non-delivery.

3) Be reliable and try to respond to any communication from the buyer as quickly as possible.

4) Focus on giving maximum VALUE to the client for his bucks. Money, Repeat Customers, Referrals will follow.

5) Intially start with Freelancing in your free time . Once you are established you can take it up as a full time vocation and trust you can way surpass your full-time job salaries working as a freelancer.
